Silence

Can silence be aware of itself?
Can awareness be aware of it self?
Can thought be aware of itself?
I think that it is a question that should be kept alive by the continuous looking into it. If you answer it the inquiry stops. Is it possible to look with the Heart as well..what about the whole being? I say it may be possible...'may be'. Even though thought does not realize that state until after it has occurred does not diminish the activity or the quality of that activity. In a cultural time that has given so much value to the process of thought..it is easy to overlook the depth and profoundness that has no measuring system therefore no actual cognitional way to measure this unmeasurable state or value thereof. Once again 'personal' experience is the only proof because that 'proof' is of a different nature altogether.

A thought cannot be aware of itself. A thought is an object of experience, no different than a mango.

However, awareness can be aware of itself. That's called pure awareness or pure consciousness. That is the true experiencer. This state is called samadhi in sanskrit. You only know of it after it happens.

That's what I meant...I'm with you. Thought aware of itself is No Thought at All.
(I meant it as more of a thought provoker, pardon the pun, than an actual question.)
