Freedom From Conflict

If there's conflict in your awareness of yourself then you are out of the awareness and into the drama of the taking of sides within your thoughtforms. This is a subtle difference and changes the whole dynamic. Then you are in the struggle and are wasting energy through the illusory struggle of thoughtforms: one over the other. There is freedom when we are not trying to 'change' What we see. You can feel it because you are trying to change what you see. You do not 'like' what you see and therefore you struggle against it. This is not awareness. We 'want' this and we 'do not want' that. Just to observe is enough. You are that. It is your 'baby', whether it is beautiful or ugly. You are looking with care and interest; you are looking in a way that It is telling you all about itself: the nature and temperature and characteristics of what it is made of. When you look in this way without any outcome desired, free from all expectation, the energy changes, but not if you are expecting it to change or wanting it to change.

Real freedom is seeing what is without any attempt to change it, for the desire to change it is part of the same machinery that is being observed. There is no accumulation of knowledge in this state. The one that accumulates is also part of the same machinery. Seeing this is integral. It is a living state of constant learning; there is no resting place.

Watch your conflict without trying to resolve it and you will see it go through a metamorphosis without any effort. To realize that you are that, as a fact, changes the nature of the observation from something that you are trying to act upon to something that you are--that cannot be 'acted upon', for it is 'you'. This is to realize that the observer is the observed. When that happens in the moment, then there is nothing to act upon; there is nothing to do for you realize that you are that and a natural transformation takes place without any effort, but it cannot be 'hoped for', 'wanted' or 'desired' because in that state you are back in the machinery of conflict.

To watch 'hopes' and 'dreams' within yourself without any movement of thought away from them; judging them, chastising them, praising them, pushing on them or pulling on them, but just to observe them exactly as they are is to start to understand yourself and in that neutral, free observation is the beginning of understanding.

Awareness is All

All you have is awareness. Everything else is suppositional, conceptual, thought-created overlays. Awareness of the movement of thought, of energy, inside and outside yourself. One unitary movement, totally related, acting on itself inside and out: stimuli, interpretation, response over and over again in omnidirectional movement.

Even our thoughts of God, or what you will, are only thought-created concepts and interpretations of first person 'experiences'. Those 'experiences' really don't have a name, but thought gives them one for the sake of communication between beings and for the sake of replaying the event in our mind and that 'sharing' of those moments are 'shells' or 'symbols' that point to the actual happening, which is already 'dead': of the past. IF you can 'think of' or 'about' it, then it is already dead. Thought cannot grab reality. If thought can conceptualize it, then it is gone. There is beauty in that. There is nothing there to be sad for. Thought wants to be sad about it, but that is pointless because it is beautiful. No man or woman or being can own the ever-living, ever-moving, omnipresent, omnidirectional present moment. What thought creates is a reality, of sorts, but it is a dead reality.

The only living moment is that which cannot be captured. If it can be captured by thought, then it is of the past, which is all ashes of a fire which never rests and has already travelled through: the ever present moment. No one can lay claim to or own this and it is open to all of consciousness who would 'look'. It is the body that dies; awareness...never.

Without Honesty You Cannot See Yourself

A lack of honesty blocks us from seeing the truth of ourselves. When we observe ourselves and want to change what we see then we cannot actually see What IS because our desire to change What IS prevents actual awareness and creates a conflict between what we are perceiving and what we would like to kbe perceiving. There is a wastage of energy here and it is this conflict that prevents True InSight that opens the door to love, peace....bliss. You do not have to seek these things. They are there when you SEE yourself without the filter of want or desire to change: when you see the truth of who you are from moment to moment as the energy moves within your consciousness: your thoughts, feelings, reactions, fears....all of it WITHOUT the desire to change what you witness. It is the ever present, living, moment. This also means watching your inner conflicts without 'trying' to overcome them, but instead being the ever present witness. The 'witness' is also the 'one' who is In conflict. When this is realized in the moment, not as a 'belief',but in actual fact, in your inner reality, then one realizes that there is nothing to do and all conflict vanishes. This Inner Truth cannot be owned, propagated or forecasted into the future or held onto in any way. It can only be perceived in the moment to moment reality of What Is. You can 'have' it one second and it be gone in the next and that is ok. Struggling will not make it so. Let it go. You can pick up attentiveness of yourself in any moment and at any time. Notice how life is when you are not attentive. When you realize that you are inattentive to the movements of the self in any moment, that then is attention. How long you hold it is not important. The Buddhists have a saying related to the activities of awareness that is applicable here, "...not too lose and not too tight..". You can only open the window and 'invite' the wind in by so doing, but you cannot force it much like you cannot force love. It will be there when the conditions are right. This is the beauty of these things and you can be as cunning as you like, 'practice' as much as you want, but it does not change one whit the mechanics of the energy of God, The All That Is, or whatever you want to call the nameless, omnipotent, omniscient, ever present spark of Light, Beauty and Truth: the Force Within All Things. This is outside the realm of thought, which is limited. Thought cannot think of it and any projection that thought creates is just that...a projection, but a projection, a facsimile, a picture on the wall is not the actual and to know that, the truth of that...is to be a step closer.

This perceptual conundrum is a trick of the mind, of thought. The Thinker is the Thought; the Perceiver is the Perceived. These words sound nice, but it is the direct realization of this truth in the observation of ourselves that actually means anything at all otherwise it means nothing at all. A way to visualize or conceive of it is to think of standing in front of a mirror. You standing there are the 'perceiver' and the reflection that you see is 'thought'. Although the reflection seems separate from you standing there it really isn't, but since the mirror reflecting you back to yourself is a physical piece of glass it would seem that it is separate in some sense and yet we all know the reflection isn't. You are perceiving yourself. Your thoughts are the same way, yet thought tries to convince you that 'you' are separate from 'thought'. You aren't. This is the lie. You are Thought and Thought is you. 'You' are put together by 'It'. The perceiver or the thinker is the thought and the realization of that in direct experience, is 'Action'. It clears the confusion and releases the energy of conflict and allows the energy and frequency of love. You don't have to go looking for it, when you remove the impediments to the energy of peace and love, they are there. Thought 'acting' upon itself is another part of the lie that we have bought into. Clarity is Insight, which is Action. Choice is born out of Confusion. When there is clarity there is Insight which is Action.

Our language system was created to instill and fortify a polar perception of reality which is why it is hard to speak about true unified reality or the concepts of it, which is what we are doing right now, with the language system that we have been given. This is also why orators who seek to elucidate, espouse and explain Unified Reality have to be ultimate word sleuths or their audience will simply not understand them. It is almost comical, although not quite, but nevertheless it is the reality in which we find ourselves.

Hopefully in between all words is the Spirit of Life; that is my aim to convey.

You Are HOME

It seems that in order to continuously think one must be half ‘asleep’. That means to be aware of what one is thinking. We are mostly not aware of what we are thinking WHEN we are thinking it. Have you ever tried to be aware of your thoughts as they come into fruition; before the word; just watching the movement of energy before the label; before thought has categorized it and given it a face?  It is only afterwards that we realize WHAT we were thinking about: thought is the aftertracing of what has already taken place. You cannot think of something in the present moment. Thinking only happens in Response To the present moment. There is stimuli, sensation and then thought steps in. The beauty of all this is that you can investigate this all yourself. There is no taking anyone else’s word for it. Isn’t that beautiful? If you do take someone else’s word for it, then you are missing the point and have “lost the thread” as they say. You are the investigator, the investigated, the guru and the acolyte all in one. This is how it is all designed within the All That Is. You are The Guide and The Follower; The Teacher and The Student; The Seeker and The Source. It is All Within You. You are The Ailment and The Healer. Once this is Realized all Seeking stops. You are Home.

Limitless

We are so easily fooled. We are looking ahead of or through the problem without actually seeing the problem itself because we are not recognizing it as the problem. How do we surmount this?

We do this with thought. We ‘observe’ ourselves: observe our thoughts, our actions, our reactions, our movements physical and psychological, et al, but in doing so we separate who we think that ‘we are’ from that we are observing when they are actually the same machinery ‘dividing itself up’ to give the illusion of separation. This illusion of separation causes us great grief and sorrow and we are constantly trying to remedy our grief by putting salve on the wound caused by perceived separation which is an illusion.

Why don’t we go to the heart of the matter? Because we have to perceive it first. That is the issue. We don’t see it; we don’t perceive it and therefore we don’t have the instant Insight that would end the separation and the psychological suffering. The funny thing about this Insight is that it is not something that you can ‘own’. You can see it in one instant and then lose it in the next. It cannot be ‘owned’, ‘collected’, ‘kept’. Thought cannot imprison it; cannot own it and yet it wants to. It wants to ‘save it up’ kind of thing. “I have the answer now”, it says. “I have seen it. I understand now.”, it says and tries to apply that dead perception to future living moments, but that does not work, because the Insight has to come to consciousness in real-time as thought is perceiving its own activity and the moment that thought tries to ‘store it up’, it is already dead because the living-ever-present ‘NOW’ has already moved on. That is why that all that thought can ‘grab’ is the past and the past is dead.

This is why the analogy of the image maker is used. Thought makes images, all these images, but what we concern ourselves with is the ‘image maker’. Who is this image maker and can we be aware of the image maker; of the image as it’s being created? That is the question. The image maker is the question, the focus and the key, not the image that is being created.

You cannot be aware of the image maker if you are resisting the images being created; then you are back to struggling with the machinery of thought itself rather than being aware of the movement of thought. It is a subtle difference, but it is the key to the whole machine. It is a living mystery that is revealed from moment to moment if one is free to look, to observe and in this observation there is the universe. It is closer than your breath. You are consciousness.

The word is not the thing. Words are here as pointers, only. A symbology to signify something that cannot be defined, that can only be pointed to. It is like love. We cannot define it, we can only say what it is not and by that we are left with the mystery of its boundless existence which we can only skirt the periphery of through the action of negation (knowing what it is not).

It is the same with thought. Thought is limited and by being choicelessly aware of it as it is created moment by moment we can come to the border of the limitless, but we cannot define it or capture it or own it in any way or even conceive of it.  We can only sense its presence and revel in its energy: undefined, unowned and free. Anything else is to fool ourselves in the machinery of thought.
